Meet The Board
Trevor Howard Managing Director
An established business leader in the Southwest of England with proven strategic management experience, Trevor came on board as the Managing Director of Clearwood UK in September 2005. He has a wide range of business and management experience in a range of industries, including giving business advice for Cornish SME's as well as being a mentor for the "Unlocking Cornish Potential" scheme. Trevor's arrival is intended to create a strong and effective management team with the objective of firmly establishing Clearwood as a leading joinery in the Southwest whilst at the same time, reaching out to new markets across the UK and Europe.
Charles Howeson Executive Chairman
Charles Howeson joined the company in August 2003 as Rowe Group's first
non-family Chairman. He also chairs a number of other West Country
enterprises including Crownhill Estates. Charles started his career in
the Royal Navy, retiring from the post of Chief of Allied Staff in
Gibraltar in 1991. In the early 90's Charles embarked on a commercial
career with a passion to lead the way in urban regeneration and regional
economic development.
He is a respected leader both nationally and internationally and holds a range of other Directorships and Government appointments.
George Wilkinson Non-executive Director
George is a partner with Ashfords, one of the region’s leading law firms, where he specialises in mainstream corporate and commercial law.
Based in the Plymouth Office, George advises clients across the whole region, and has particular experience advising large family businesses. In addition to his law practice, George is involved in the wider business community in the South West, including several board level positions for other businesses, as well as public speaking at legal and professional seminars.
Jason Rowe Non-executive Director
Jason joined the company in 1982. As a director, he oversees the general
operation of the Rowe Group of Investments and takes particular interest
in the strategic planning and growth of the group as a whole. Jason
recognizes value in involvement and participation of all employed under
the Rowe name and seeks to attain the same through a cultural breeding of
unity both within and around the company.
Matthew Rowe Non-executive Director
Matthew joined the company in 1986 and as a Director, oversees the
smooth operation of the entire group with a keen eye for detail and
strategic intent. He plays an active part in the joint decision making
responsibilities of the board and is instrumental in providing the group
with direction in his capacity, liaising from time to time with key
personnel in his team of employees.
Christopher Rowe Non-executive Director
Chris joined the Company in 1989 and takes a keen interest in all
Company investments, sitting as a Director on all subsidiary Boards.
As a Director, he supports the strategic growth effort and direction of
the Group. Chris has a strong interest particularly in relation to the
Company's property investments and has an in depth understanding of the
market, thus helping him recognise both short and long-term objectives and
opportunities to grow and strengthen the portfolio.
Colin Truscott ACA Non-executive Director
Following on from obtaining a Physics degree at King's College, London
Colin returned to Cornwall where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant
with KPMG. Prior to KPMG's retrenchment from Cornwall Colin joined a local
Truro firm, Lang Bennetts where he became, and still is, a partner dealing
with a wide variety of local and international businesses.
In addition to his accountancy practice Colin has a number of non-executive directorship roles and trusteeships. Colin is a Non-executive Director on the Rowe Group Board.
Neil Cotterill Group Company Secretary
Neil has worked for the Group for over 26 years. He was appointed Group
Company Secretary during 2000. Over the years he has taken responsibility
for a wide range of duties and retains an overview of Legal matters and
Group Insurances and has actively supported the development of Managers
and the pending reorganisation of the Group Companies.
Primarily he has played an active role in the management of the Core assets of Property Investment and has instigated the property portfolio Strategy and negotiated the funding arrangements for its' future diversification and enhanced growth value. He was appointed Managing Director of Rowe Estates during 2004 and is implementing the Sales and Purchases of Property from the Board agreed business plan.
